Frida Karlsson’s response to Therese Johaug’s psychosis after Ruka

Frida Karlsson crushed Therese Johaug in Ruka.
Afterwards, the Norwegian had several excuses and pointed to various reasons why the Swede had won.
– That’s how it sounded all the times I won against her, says Karlsson to Sportbladet.

Few thought that Frida Karlsson25, could line up during the World Cup’s premiere weekend in Finnish Ruka. Even fewer thought she would crush all opposition in 10 kilometers in classic style. The Norwegian comeback star Therese Johaug36, had no chance and finished 46 seconds after Frida.

Therese Johaug’s excuses

At a press conference before this weekend’s World Cup competitions in Lillehammer, Therese Johaug sat and explained to the gathered press corps why she had been beaten by Frida Karlsson. Of course, she had several different explanations for why it turned out the way it did.
– Each ski race lives its own life. I think Frida had a top race and then it snowed a lot and I went out early. I had gone maybe 15-20 minutes before she started. I think the conditions maybe got a little better afterwards, I felt that in the second round, she says at the press conference.

She continues to make her excuses and excuses. She does not want to give the slightest credit to Frida and her performance.
– And I think maybe I didn’t have completely optimal skis. I had a problem with the bracket. Frida would have won regardless, but I think maybe the distance would have been smaller if I had started later or had a little better grip, says Johaug.

Frida Karlsson responds to Johaug’s psychosis

When Frida Karlsson finds out what Johaug has said about last weekend’s competition, she is not surprised. She thinks that it is part of the Norwegian’s strategy to shift all the pressure onto her.
– That’s how it sounded all the times I won against her. So I’m used to it, she tells Sportbladet and continues:
– It usually sounds like that.

She is currently doubtful whether she will start in Sunday’s skiathlon (20 km). Instead, there is full focus on Friday’s 10 km freestyle. First skate race of the year for her.
– I have been waiting a long time for it. Skejt is a bit more mechanical technically. Classic goes a little more automatically. So there is a little difference, but it still feels “safe” to drive. It doesn’t feel like I’m risking anything, says Frida.

Hello Frida! Don’t let Johaug get to you. Good luck now at this weekend’s competitions in Lillehammer. Do your best and it will go great for you.
