Frida Karlsson’s open-hearted response after the new sawing in Norway – now admits herself: “It’s unreasonable”

Frida Karlsson considered not competing at all this season.
The idea was strongly questioned by several Norwegian skiers, who are backed by Frida herself.
– It is quite unreasonable, she tells Sportbibeln.

Last ski season was a successful one for the Swedish ladies. Together they took a total of eleven medals during the WC, several World Cup victories, and Maja Dahlqvist took home the overall sprint cup, among other things.

Norwegian reactions

In 2025, the World Ski Championships in Trondheim await, followed by two championship years. This ski season, on the other hand, is championship-free. The skiers will be able to focus on the World Cup and Tour de Ski.

It made Frida Karlsson, 24, think about not competing at all this season. Several Norwegian skiers reacted strongly to the idea.
– I could never have imagined training for a whole year without competing, that’s what I like best, said Harald Östberg Amundsen to Nettavisen.

Frida’s defense

The plan not to compete was quickly scrapped by the 24-year-old and trainer Per Nilssonafter Frida noticed.
– It was a bit of a “Frida-fast-and-wrong thought”, to think that I could stay away from competing for a whole season, it’s quite unreasonable. Competing is the most fun I know, and that’s why you live this life and enjoy it so much, she tells Sportbibeln.

The Norwegian reactions reached Karlsson, who is inclined to agree.
– I figured it out myself quite quickly that I couldn’t sit at home on the sofa and follow an entire season on the side.

Compared to last season, the reigning Tour de Ski champion has a hope of which Frida Karlsson we will see.
– A bit more stable, hopefully.
