The lack of snow has been a hot topic of conversation ahead of the Tour de Ski competitions in German Oberstdorf.
But there was nothing that bothered Frida Karlsson.
The Swedish star showed off her fine form again when she won after a great race.
Frida Karlsson has had a good start at the Tour de Ski. On New Year’s Eve, the Swede finished in fifth place in the sprint, and then followed that up by coming third in the pursuit start on New Year’s Day. When it was time for 10 kilometers classic style in a “summery” Oberstdorf, Germany, Frida Karlsson was therefore one of the early favourites.
Frida’s super start
And it also started well for the 23-year-old, who was already in the lead at the first split with a seven-second margin down to another early favorite in the form of the Finn Kerttu Niskanen.

But there were several threats to Frida Karlsson. Krista Pärmäkoski and Tiril Udnes Weng they also went like a train in the tracks, but Karlsson bit off. And a lot of it. Karlsson continued at the same pace and looked completely tireless.

And of course there would be victory. Frida Karlsson stood for a giant race, and no one could match the 23-year-old who was supreme for the day. The victory means that the fine start continues in the Tour de Ski, where Karlsson also seems likely to take over the yellow leader’s vest.
The victory was Karlsson’s first stage victory in the Tour de Ski, and the Swede now leads the tour for Tiril Udnes Weng with four stages remaining in total.
