Three World Cup weekends remain before it’s time for the Ski World Cup in Trondheim, Norway, February 26 to March 9. Next weekend, the Swiss Engadin will be the host, then Italian Cogne and Swedish Falun. Now Frida Karlsson reveals that she will not go to any of the resorts.
– I have had a plan for a long time. I go up high and enter my own little world and charge for the WC, she tells Sportbladet.

Frida Karlsson’s unexpected question

There will thus be no more World Cup competitions before the WC. Instead, there will be a high-altitude camp in Lavazé, Italy. In addition, she will have time to rest and rehabilitate her foot.
– Now I’m going to get energy from the sun, get good training, relax my shoulders and come fully charged to the WC, she says and continues:
– Maybe I’ll run my own competition on the Olympic tracks in Val di Fiemme. Then I will be my biggest threat, haha.

She tells Expressen that she was keen to borrow the biathlete Jesper Nelins homemade, removable conveyor belts. He has built like a mobile trailer that he has the band in. Karlsson has asked if she can take it down through Europe to practice on the band.
– That’s right, but it wasn’t really clear, so I solved it in a different way. Roller conveyor belts have been safe for me. Skis have still been a bit more taxing on my injuries than roller belts are. So I’ve run almost all speed sessions on tape, she explains.

How sad that we don’t get to see you in the World Cup until after the WC. But we understand your decision, Frida. Good luck now with the training before the championship. Only you know what you need to be able to perform in a desirable way. The rest of us just support you. Drive hard!
