Frida Karlsson crushed all opposition in the five miles in Holmenkollen.
The Swedish cross-country star won by just over a minute ahead of the runner-up, Ebba Andersson.
Nine skiers were gathered in a cluster after just over three miles of skiing – then Frida Karlsson put in her push. No one else could match her pace, and the distance increased with each passage of time.
At the finish line, she was one minute and 19 seconds ahead of her nearest challenger – national team colleague Ebba Andersson.
Andersson, who had a failing form this winter since she contracted covid before the Tour de Ski, stood for a strong finish to the race and finally got to step on the podium again.
The German Katharina Hennig was third.
