Frida Karlsson is currently preparing for next season.
But she also manages to make the Swedish people cheer.
Her new initiative is now praised by all.
It was in connection with Börje Salming, one of Sweden’s foremost athletes of all time, quickly becoming ill with ALS that the foundation “Börje Salming ALS-stiftelse” was started. It is there to collect money for research, but also to spread the word about the disease, and since Börje Salming’s death, several major events have taken place on the foundation’s initiative.
Nice initiatives for Börje
Included in the board’s foundation are, among others, Pia Salming and the ice hockey legends Nicklas Lidström and Mats Sundin. But it is not only sporting legends who commit to the foundation. Regularly, people around Sweden start collections and activities to collect money for Börje Salming’s foundation, and one of all admirable gestures is Oliver Eriksson.
On social media, he has shared that this summer, starting on July 14, he plans to roller skate between Kiruna and Ystad, where all the money collected will be given to Börje Salming’s foundation. The journey of almost 200(!) miles is expected to take a full 20 days, but Oliver Eriksson will not be alone the entire distance.
Frida’s admirable gesture
On the TikTok account Roll for ALS 2024, it has been supported by none other than Frida Karlsson, who announces that, in order to support the initiative and Börje Salming’s foundation, she will have Oliver’s back when he passes through Östersund, where Frida Karlsson lives.
– I intend to support Oliver, who rolls for ALS. He’s going to roller skate from Kiruna to Ystad, and when he passes Östersund I thought: “I’ll take my roller skis and go along!”. It will be fun, and I think everyone should join and support in their own way. So see you on the roads, says Frida Karlsson in the clip.
Frida Karlsson is highly praised for her fine initiative, and she is not the only star who has given her support to “Roll for ALS”. Armand Duplantis is also featured in a clip on the TikTok channel where he gives his support, and in addition there are greetings from NHL stars and other Swedish sports personalities, who give both money to the foundation, as well as support for Oliver’s admirable initiative.
