The 34-year-old has really indulged himself after the end of his long skiing career. At home in Norway, her new lifestyle has attracted attention and she herself has described it as “being 18 again”.

Former rival Frida Karlsson has also drawn attention to Johaug’s party summer, alongside her own pre-season training. But there, the Swede feels no envy towards Johaug.
– She has earned that, says Karlsson in an interview with the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet.

“Great skater”

The Swede is mentioned as one of the favorites to take over the baton after Johaug and fill the hole left by the skiing queen. But the absence of the Norwegian is nothing that has affected the 23-year-old’s preparations for the new season.
– No, it’s not something I think about, she tells the newspaper.

Frida Karlsson also believes that Norway will continue to be a big threat on the ski slopes, even though the reigning Olympic and world champion retired.
– I think the Norwegian national team will be strong even if Johaug retires, but it is clear that they have lost a great skater. She has paved the way for the team, says the Swede in the interview.
