Frida Karlsson does not want to compete in November.
Her drastic proposal is now being praised in Norway.
– We have talked about it around the dinner table, says Ragnhild Haga.
reason Frida Karlsson’s controversial result is that almost all ski resorts in northern Europe lack snow. When the Sweden premiere took place in Bruksvallarna last weekend, many traces of grass were visible, as the snow had not completely settled. It is artificial snow, and stored snow, that allows the skiing and biathlon competitions to take place.
Celebrated in Norway
And Frida Karlsson thinks it would have been better if the snow had been allowed to settle for real, and more naturally. She believes, in an interview with Expressen, that it costs both money and the environment to transport the snow around to make the competitions possible. Therefore, she believes that if the season started only a month later, i.e. at the end of December, a lot would have benefited from it.
The World Cup in cross-country skiing all starts at the end of November, but Karlsson would have liked to see it moved forward. The controversial proposal is now also praised in Norway.
– We have talked about that around the dinner table, says Ragnhild Haga to Nettavisen.

“I get to do something”
Haga believes that the season would have benefited from ending later than it does today, as the snow often remains for a long time.
– I competed in April last year and it was great and nice snow conditions. That we had started later, and finished later, has been much better for millions. And then everyone had escaped chasing snow during the autumn, she says.
Frida Karlsson believes that it is the TV schedule that controls the season as it is right now, but she wants to bring about a change.
– I guess I’ll have to try to lie on them even more. I’m not going to sit here and complain, I have to do something about it instead, says Karlsson to Expressen.
