Frida Karlsson’s decisive decision before the Tour de Ski – which makes the Swedes cheer: “Shockfull as I am…”

Frida Karlsson has produced mixed results so far this season. During the World Cup premiere in Ruka, there was a podium finish, but the 24-year-old then fell ill and hasn’t been in the same form since.

Karlsson’s collapse

In a few days the Tour de Ski is coming up. Frida Karlsson arrives there as reigning champion, after her successful victory last season. She then became the second Swedish woman ever to win the competition, after Charlotte Called victory in 2007/2008. The win was big for Frida Karlsson and was celebrated big afterwards. But it wasn’t until after she freaked out all the viewers.

This after she collapsed in front of the television cameras at the finish line of the final stage – the climb up Alpe Cermis in Val di Fiemme. Karlsson was surrounded by people as she lay on the ground and received treatment. After a while, Frida got back on her feet and soon the news came that she was okay.

The decisive decision

When it is now time again for the Tour de Ski, the 24-year-old has decided not to change anything.
“Shocked as I am, I have done exactly the same upload as last year. The bag is packed, the chins are ready. Tour de Ski next!”, writes Frida Karlsson under an Instagram post, which can be seen below.

The decision is now met with cheers from Karlsson’s followers.
“Hello. We’re counting on you,” writes one person.
“Fingers and toes crossed! Just don’t scare us again at the end,” writes another with a twinkle in his eye.
“Fingers crossed that you take home the victory again this year!”, writes a third person.
