But when she relaxes in the Swedish heat, thoughts about the future also come. The 24-year-old recently caused strong emotions by revealing his plan to retire from cross-country skiing at the age of 27.

According to Karlsson’s intended plan, his career will end after the spring of 2027. A suitable year when both the Ski WC in Falun and the SM on home ground in Sollefteå will be a worthy end to his career – even if it is premature.
Frida about the future
She is still clear that a lot can happen in the next three years and that she may change her decision. But now she opens up about the future and says what she really feels.
– There is more to life. I want to do so much – even if I don’t know exactly what I want to do then, says Frida in an interview with Expressen.
– It is difficult to say even now what it can be. As recently as the day before yesterday, I started thinking a little about trail running. It can be anything!

But one thing is certain, it won’t be a new existence with an ordinary job after an elite career as a skier.
– No, God. Then I would have felt like crap. It feels like I will never be able to sit down in an office, she says to the evening newspaper.
– I think I require quite a lot of stimulation. And then sports suit me very well. It’s cut and dry for me.

Regardless of what Frida Karlsson decides to do next, she will listen to her heart and follow her own instinct. And don’t listen to what anyone else says, but do exactly what she feels like.
– I think it is important to constantly do what you do for yourself. Not just following the norms and continuing to do it because someone else thinks so, she says in the interview.
– If you don’t have full motivation from within yourself, it won’t be a wholehearted effort either.
