Frida Karlsson’s beautiful greeting to the rest of the skiing world – after the elimination this weekend: “Now we get…”

Sweden had a completely fabulous weekend in the World Cup.
Now Frida Karlsson sends a clean pass – to the entire skiing world.
– There has been a lot of talk about the Norwegian gentlemen destroying…, says the star.

Since Therese Johaug chose to end her career, Sweden has been completely superior in the skiing world, at least on the women’s side. Especially in sprints, Sweden has had several skaters who all belong to the absolute top tier in the world, and there haven’t been many competitions where there hasn’t been Blue and Yellow at the top of the podium.

Swedish smash hit

In addition, Norway’s top sprinter, Kristine Stavås Skistad, was not included in this weekend’s competitions in Goms. And then it became a total playhouse for the Swedish part. In total, six out of eight Swedish riders were at the top of the sprint qualifying on Saturday, and that was just the beginning of a truly fantastic Swedish day. In the final, Linn Svahn managed to secure her fourth straight sprint victory in the World Cup.

And behind her, Maja Dahlqvist, with her second place, took the season’s first podium. Jonna Sundling already fell on the first hill, but still managed to finish third. In addition, Frida Karlsson was fourth, and Emma Ribom fifth. It was a huge success just that Sweden had five skaters in the final, but the blue and yellow skaters also managed to finish first, second, third, fourth and fifth.

Frida’s fit

On Sunday, there was further success when Frida Karlsson came second, only beaten by Jessie Diggins, and Ebba Andersson fourth, in the 20 kilometer mass start. Meanwhile, Norway had a heavy weekend. Not a single rider made it past the quarterfinals in the sprint on Saturday, and no one was even in the top ten in Sunday’s distance race.

– It’s cool, it’s like the Swedish championships. It’s almost like pinching your arm. Bad day, we already set the bar in the qualifiers when we are six of the eight best and then we set the bar by being five in the final. It’s cool then, said Frida Karlsson after Saturday’s huge success.

Frida Karlsson also chose to send a perfectly fine pass to the rest of the skiing world – on a question whether the Swedish dominance can actually be harmful to the sport.

– There has been a lot of talk about the Norwegian men ruining things, so now we have to invite other nations to training, says Karlsson.
