Frida Karlsson opens up about the nightmare trip
When preparing for a new season, you want to do so with perfect conditions. Just as Swedish football teams go to warm countries in the winter to get to green lawns and a lighted lamp, the same applies to the skiers, but in the summer of course.
This year, the Swedish ski ladies went to the Italian alpine village of Lavazé to get in top shape for the winter. However, the trip has not been at all what the skiing stars had imagined, and now Frida Karlsson has spoken out about the terrible trip.

Karlsson said during the summer that she plans to end her career after the World Cup on home soil in 2027, when she will be 27 years old. This news created reactions, and now Karlsson is roaring back. In an interview with The evening paper she says the following.
– I was surprised that people have so many opinions about it. It’s still my life, let me do what I want… There are several people your age who change jobs wildly. But when it comes to elite athletes, that’s crossing the line.
She fills in:
– You have to understand me correctly. There is nothing else I would rather be doing right now. I love my everyday life very much and wouldn’t trade it for anything. But I’m also driven by setting a finish line in a way and thinking that it’s not forever. I really want to make the most of these three years. But I also know there are other things to do.
Karlsson is asked if many people have been provoked by her planning to quit at a young age.
– Yes, it is. Many. But I don’t think it’s an age issue either. If I had followed some age model, I wouldn’t have made it as a 19-year-old either. Then I’m way too early if you’re going to follow any model. I think it’s a matter of motivation and what you feel at the moment.
