Frida Karlsson sends a greeting to the Swedes before the comeback

Frida Karlsson is back in the World Cup.
She competes this weekend in Les Rousess in France and sends a message to all Swedish supporters.
“Time to get back into the game!!”, she writes on Instagram.

It’s been a tough season so far for Frida Karlsson25. She has been forced to sit out most competitions, including the entire Tour de Ski, due to a foot injury. On the other hand, the few times she has actually been able to shoot have gone very well, for example in the World Cup premiere in Ruka.

Frida Karlsson back in the Swedish squad

Frida has been at home in Sollefteå during the Christmas holiday and both trained and rested in shape. From there, she had to sit on the TV sofa and witness how the rival Therese Johaug again won the entire Tour de Ski. It has been half-stated for a couple of weeks that the Swede was aiming for the World Cup in Les Rousess, January 17-19. During Tuesday, she was officially selected in the Swedish squad that travels to France to compete.

Also Jonna Sundling and Calle Halfvarsson is back after sitting out competitions.
“We get most of the riders who missed the Tour de Ski or who have been sick. Frida Karlsson makes a comeback in the World Cup after a few weekends without competing. The same applies to Jonna Sundling, Emma Ribom and Calle Halfvarsson. Calle is back after his back problems. He wanted to compete in Falun this past weekend, but we chose to give the rehabilitation another week, so now Calle is ready for the World Cup again,” says national team manager Anders Byström in a press release.

Frida’s greeting to the Swedish people

Karlsson will compete in Friday’s 10 km freestyle and in Sunday’s 20 km classic style, mass start. Not in Saturday’s sprint.
“Les Rousses had the competitions for the first time in the World Cup two years ago and then it was a wonderful experience in terms of crowd, atmosphere and courses. Now they have developed the concept further and despite warm temperatures, they promise good conditions in both sprint and distance,” says Anders Byström.
