Frida Karlsson reveals the truth about the Swedish fiasco in the World Cup – the words about the miss: “Got a long text message”

There was no good Swedish race on the last day in Östersund.
Frida Karlsson and the gang have received an explanation and are now looking ahead.
– It’s still nice to know that, says Karlsson to SVT.

The Swedish ladies have started the season very impressed. Five Swedish victories out of seven possible, and the team is really performing at its peak. Moreover, when there is sickness among the stars at the same time.

The season opener

Frida Karlsson, Jonna Sundling, Lynn Svahn and Johanna Hagström tested everyone positive for covid after the world cup premiere in Ruka. Linn Svahn and Frida Karlsson have returned to competition, and Johanna Hagström is back for this weekend’s competitions in Trondheim.
Some other Swedish women who will stand up are among others Ebb Andersson, Emma Ribom and Moa Ilar. And they are said to be hungry for revenge.

Because it was the case that the last World Cup competition, 10 kilometers freestyle in Östersund, was a real failure on the Swedish side. The best Swede was Ebba Andersson, who finished in ninth place. Moa Ilar, who started so well, ended up in 18th place, while Frida Karlsson did the worst distance race of her career and finished 23rd.

Frida’s relief

But the failure also has its explanation. Already right after the race, discussions began about whether there was something wrong with the material, which was then confirmed.
– After the competition, you talk to your sire and such, and had a fairly open discussion. But then we also received a long text message the day after where they had retested all the skis after and seen that there were big differences, says Frida Karlsson to SVT.

The 24-year-old appreciated getting that message, even though she wasn’t having her best day.
– It’s still nice to get it like that, that you don’t have to put it here – even though I may not have had the best feeling – so someone who had a good feeling doesn’t have to put that question mark on the form, but you can just “it was a boom on the skis that particular day” and then you can turn the page, says Frida.

Karlsson’s calm

This weekend the riders are in Trondheim for further World Cup races. Then Karlsson is not nervous that something will go wrong again.
– I have full confidence in them on the bus. I’m not worried at all, but I think they’re probably in good shape too, she says to SVT.
