Frida Karlsson has had an absolutely brilliant season.
And the highlight was of course when she won the overall victory in the Tour de Ski.
But now best friend Maja Dahlqvist reveals what happened to the prestigious award.
The last ski season was very successful too Frida Karlsson who really got to show off his full potential as a skier and silence all critics. After a few tough years behind him that were marred by injuries and health problems, the winter was a big revenge for the 23-year-old.
Frida’s season
The Swede impressed at the World Cup with several podium places and then excelled during the World Ski Championships by winning medals in all the races she competed in. Karlsson came home from the World Championships in Planica with double World Cup silver and double World Cup bronze.

But the big highlight of the season was of course the Tour de Ski. When a completely exhausted Frida Karlsson crossed the finish line on the last stage and had to celebrate that she had won the overall victory.

Karlsson’s prize
A very fine achievement and the first Swede since Charlotte Kalla 2008 to succeed in winning the difficult mini-tour. For that, Frida was awarded the “Performance of the Year” award at Expressen’s own ski gala, and the person who had to hand over the award was her national team colleague and best friend Maja Dahlqvist.
– It’s only you who wins prizes these days, says Maja to Frida over the phone and gives a small justification to the winner.
– Because you’re such a fucking drama queen. So… Congratulations on this year’s achievement, says Dahlqvist with a laugh.
– I start to cry. Thank you, replies Karlsson jokingly.

Maja Dahlqvist holds the prize that Frida Karlsson will receive and promises to keep it safe until the teammates meet again. Then she reveals the truth about what has happened to Karlsson’s prestigious prize from the Tour de Ski.

Because the desirable statuette is not at Frida’s house in safe custody – but in fact on the loose just a few months after winning the competition.
– I can put this in my storage where your Tour de ski prize is. I’ll take this one in the bargain, says Dahlqvist with a laugh.
