Frida Karlsson was involved in a serious crash before the WC.
Now she reveals the drama with the police – and the text that made her drop everything.

Frida Karlsson came to the start after the WC, but it was only afterwards that she revealed that it could very well have been different. The results were not quite what Karlsson had hoped for, but there was an explanation, in a real drama that unfolded in front of him.
Now revealing the details
Just weeks before the WC in Planica, Karlsson was involved in a car accident. The cars were just scrap, and Karlsson was lucky to only get out of there with minor damage. It seriously affected her preparations, but if it had gone badly, her entire career could have been ruined. Experts even said that Karlsson should have sat out the WC, as she had problems with her neck.
Karlsson was shocked, but still got to the start, won medals – and only now is she telling all the details about the dramatic event. She also talks about the calls that came during a training session. After several attempts where Karlsson time and again did not answer, something else happened.
– I do not care about that. But then I see on my watch that I received a text message from the police, she tells Expressen.

The drama with the police
Frida Karlsson tells what was in the text message, and how it made her, to say the least, let go of everything she was doing.
– “You must answer now! This is a police interrogation”.
Frida Karlsson continues:
– And I just like: “Huh!?” I’m in pre-camp before the World Cup, struggling every day with trying to keep the stress level down – and then it happens.
Frida Karlsson talked to the police during an hour of leg-skating, and she took full responsibility for the whole thing.
– I said that “I was going to training, was stressed and was not paying attention” – and took on all the responsibility. Fine me like. I just wanted to hang up.
Frida Karlsson eventually had to pay a fine for the incident.
