Frida Karlsson has hinted that she will quit after the 2027 World Cup in Falun.
It has caused many Swedes to react strongly.
– They have no idea what dreams I have in the future, she tells the Sports Bible.
As a 25-year-old has Frida Karlsson Already winning twelve World Cup medals and an Olympic bronze. In Trondheim it has become a World Cup gold in relay and a bronze for 10 km classic. She has previously said that she plans to “retire” after the 2027 World Cup in Falun, so she does not have as many championship races to take that first individual World Cup gold medal that is so long-awaited.

Last spring, Frida Karlsson came with an unexpected message. She is considering ending her career already after the home World Cup in Falun. It is only two years left and she will only be 27 years old. SM in the hometown of Sollefteå 2027 is also a highlight.
– I like to have deadlines. That’s when I work best. So it has always been, ever since I went to school. That’s a little for your own motivation. To feel that what I am doing is not forever, taking advantage of it fully. That I will do everything I know these three years, she told SVT last year.

Before the home World Cup in Falun, an Olympic Games await Milan/Cortina next year. She is determined to perform as well as possible before she completely leaves.
– It motivates me a lot to write that story in Falun. But that can change, she has said.
Frida Karlsson strikes back against the criticism
Many Swedes have reacted strongly to Frida Karlsson’s message. They think she is too young and too successful to quit already after the World Cup 2027. Now she tells the Sports Bible what she really thinks that so many people have opinions about her future.
– I’ve just thought it was very strange really. That others should interfere. They have no idea what I have for dreams in the future. Now I do not know if there is anything special that I think about, but that you just say if someone else’s life is different. But it is probably something you can also take when you are in this industry, she says.

At the time of writing, Frida Karlsson has no individual World Cup gold. Of course, there may be a change in it in Sunday’s five -mile in Trondheim, otherwise she will have great pressure in Falun in two years.
