With just under a month left for the ski World Cup in Trondheim, the riders start their charging for real.
Fortunately, several of Sweden’s biggest stars choose to participate in the SM, but Frida Karlsson has made it clear that she will not participate.
Only two World Cup weekends remain before it is time for the ski World Cup in Trondheim February 26-March 9. First it is Italian cogne next weekend and then Falun February 14-16. In between, the SM awaits in Borås, February 6-8, for the riders who want and can.
Several big names with on the SM
Since the Swedish championship lies squeezed between World Cup competitions and a world championship, it would not be strange if several of the biggest stars banged. But pleasantly enough, many have actually chosen to plan the SM into their calendars.

Among other things comes Jonna SundlingThe Ebba AnderssonThe William PoromaaThe Edvin AngerThe Moa IlarThe Johanna HagströmThe Jens Burman and Emma Ribom will all be involved in fighting for the medals.
– Really looking forward to the baton with Edvin and Jens. Love to compete for the ridges, says William Poromaa to SVT Sport.
– Fun and nice to get home and compete. There is always a wonderful atmosphere at the SM week. And so it feels important that we join, says Emma Ribom.
Frida Karlsson’s message about SM
However, one that made it clear that she will not be at the SM is Frida Karlsson. Before the season, she was forced rehab train for a couple of weeks due to a foot injury – that’s why she has competed on very few occasions this season. She has now decided that she should not compete any more before the World Cup. Her friend Maja Dahlqvist Also looks to noble SM.
– It is rarely good in the middle of the season. You get to thumb on something, either a World Cup that some do or SM. It won’t be good no matter what you do, it feels like. I think it’s best when it’s like last year, after the season. So that everyone can join and run everything, says Dahlqvist.

The national team manager Anders Byström Seems that SM is a good chance for the riders who are on the verge of being able to join the World Cup squad to show for one last time what they are going for. The squad is presented quite immediately after the Swedish Championships in Borås.
Gratifying that so many big names want to come and compete at the SM! So fun! It is a good last charge for the World Cup, because unfortunately there will probably not be many who participate in the World Cup weekend in Falun the week after the SM.
