Now Frida and Maja open up about whether or not they want to return to Blågult.

Last spring came the sudden announcement that three of Sweden’s biggest ski stars chose to break away and leave the national ski team. Frida Karlsson, Maja Dahlqvist and Lynn Svahn made the controversial decision not to train with the national team anymore, but to run on his own set-up.
Frida’s season
The season that was then became fantastic for Karlsson who won the Tour de Ski and collected four WC medals in Planica, Dahlqvist won the overall Sprint Cup for the second year in a row and Svahn made a comeback at the top of the world again with great results.

Now both Frida and Maja open up about the future and whether they want to return to the Swedish national ski team again.
– I am very happy with my year, I must have had my strongest season so far. After all, you don’t know how it would have been if I had been in the team. But I have stood up for what I believe in and really had to follow my own path and I am proud of that, says Frida Karlsson to SVT Sport.

Dahlqvist’s demands
The national team is in dialogue with the star trio and the hope is to get back came to this pre-season coming this summer. Maja Dahlqvist is quite clear about what is required for her to consider returning.
– The goal for me is to be part of a functioning national team, where it works 100 percent, which I have always dreamed of being. I am satisfied that I did what I did and dared to do what I believe in fully. At the same time, I hope that there will be a change and that we will be back this year, says the Swede to the TV channel.
– A change is required, and I know that it is up for discussion now what we girls think and want. So I think it will get better and that we have a chance to make an impact now.

Frida Karlsson also agrees that she wants to be involved and influence the decisions of the national skiing team more. The national team manager Anders Byström admits that the dialogue with the trio is good and that they have taken on board the skaters’ views on what the national team’s training plan looks like.
– There are some things we have to work on in the team as well, which will make it even more attractive for them to come back. We want the best possible national team in the world, and we have that if everyone is on board, he says in a statement.
