Frida Hansdotter won both Olympic gold and the World Cup in slalom.
Today we celebrate the Swedish hero who turns 38!
She had to fight hard and for a long time to achieve the great success in the alpine world. In his very last championship got Frida Hansdotter the perfect end to his career with the unforgettable 2018 Olympic gold.
Hansdotter’s career
The debut at the World Cup came already in 2004, but it would take a full five years before Hansdotter got to step on the podium for the first time in 2009. Then another five years before the very first World Cup victory came in Slovenian Kranjska Gora in 2014.

It was at the end of her career that Frida really changed gears and reaped her greatest successes. In the 2015/16 season, she took home the entire World Cup in slalom as a 30-year-old.
Frida’s Olympic gold
After two WC silver and three WC bronze, she also had to wait a long time for the really big championship success. It came in Hansdotter’s third and final Winter Olympics in 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

When the Swede surprised everyone and won a brilliant Olympic gold in slalom, which became the great highlight of her career. Just one year later, Frida Hansdotter chose to end her alpine career for good.
“What a goddess!”
After her career, we got to see her come second in the SVT program Mästarnas Mästare 2020 and then win the Kanal 5 program Superstars 2023. Frida has also become a mother for the first time in her life and is currently expecting her second child.

Recently, she has shown a new picture of herself pregnant – and the Swedish people absolutely love it, see the picture below.
“Winter has come to Sweden and a winter-inspired pregnancy picture feels just right,” she writes on Instagram, and the comment field overflows with nice words.
