FRESH DISNEY+. New to the Disney+ catalog on Friday March 4, the film Fresh by Mimi Cave is aimed at an informed audience and is only accessible to 18+ profiles on the platform. What is it about ?
Broadcast on Hulu in the United States, Fresh is the first feature film by Mimi Cave, who had previously directed music videos and short films. Presented at the Sundance Film Festival, Fresh made an impression with its way of transforming what seems to be, at first, a romantic comedy into a horrifying thriller with feminist overtones. The film is carried by the duo formed by Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People) and Sebastian Stan (Falcon & the Winter Soldier). In France, it is Disney++ which organizes the broadcast of Fresh, available exclusively on the subscription streaming service. Not recommended for those under 18, the feature film is only accessible to 18+ profiles on Disney+.
Summary: Tired of trying to find love on self-defeating dating apps, Noa meets Steve quite by chance in the fresh aisle of a grocery store. The young woman falls under the spell of this perfectly seductive doctor. He then invites her to spend a weekend at his place, in a sumptuous modern house. On the spot, Noa discovers that her phone no longer works and that Steve cannot send her internet codes. He also introduces her to his tastes… quite particular. This is where this weekend, which was supposed to be romantic, changes completely.
