He appears in the series as himself, i.e. he plays a so-called cameo role. The matter has been widely reported outside of France, among others newspaper in The Guardian.
The first lady of France is known for her sense of style. Elle fashion magazine according to Macron wears his own clothes in the series, and he was not instructed on how to dress. Fashion is an important part of the series.
Series creator Darren Starr tells the newspaper that Macron is “very talented”.
Playing the main character of the series Lily Collins according to the idea of a visit has been brewing for a couple of years. Collins says that Macron is a big fan of the series.
– Filming with him was both an honor and really fun, Collins told the magazine.
It is the second time that Brigitte Macron has played herself on the big screen. In 2018, he appeared in the French comedy series Vestiaires.
The Emily in Paris series describes the romantic adventures of an American woman in postcard-like beautiful Paris. The main character of the series poses in fashion creations and suffers from cultural differences and the cross pressure of Rude French colleagues.
The series has annoyed many French people, who think it reduces Paris to a bunch of clichés and outdated stereotypes.
