French presidential election 2022: candidates from the diaspora

Gilda Vieira (left) and Stéphane Tauthui, candidates for the 2022 presidential election.

Their names are Jeanne Muvira, a trained pharmacist of Burundian origin, Gildas Vieira, a doctor of public health born in Congo and Stéphane Tauthui, a business manager of Ivorian origin. Their common point: these French people from immigrant backgrounds have decided to run for the highest office. These atypical candidates, without a political party and without large financial means, are still little known, even unknown to the general public. They are of little interest to the media. However, a few days before the deadline for 500 signatures, the presidential race of these small candidates is also taking place with them.
