The President of France Emmanuel Macron has taken up his second term. The inauguration was held at the Élysée Palace in Paris in the morning.

After taking office, outside the palace, shots of honor were fired with cannons.

The leader of the French Constitutional Council confirmed the results of last month’s presidential election, after which Macron signed an official document.

The second term of 44-year-old Macron, who served as French president for five years, will officially begin at midnight on May 14th. Macron won the far-right candidate in the second round of the election Marine Le Penin percentages from 58.5 to 41.5.
