Macron’s coalition is getting about 15 percent of the vote. The French president has characterized the election result as “a disappointment for the parties defending Europe”.

The far-right National Front is getting more than 33 percent of the votes in the European elections in France, according to the result forecast. It is increasing its popularity by ten percentage points from 2019.

Chairman of the National Front Jordan Bardella demanded new elections in his victory speech. Also a long-time leader of the party Marine Le Pen has welcomed news of new elections.
