140 years ago they gave away the Statue of Liberty.

Now France wants her back.

In 1886, the Statue of Liberty was unveiled in New York, who was a gift from France to the United States and has been in place ever since.

The purpose was to celebrate the country’s independence.

But now Parliament Member Raphaël Glucksmann, who is part of the Social Democratic group in the European Aprlam, wants it returned to France after the United States has chosen the “tyrants”, says Glucksmann.

“We will say to the United States, who have chosen the Tyrans side and to the Americans who fired researchers: give us back the goddess of Liberty,” said Glucksmann at a party congress.

“Will be fine here at home”

Glucksmann says France gave the Statue of Liberty to the United States as a gift.

– But obviously you despise it. So it will be good here at home, Glucksmann said.

He also added that France should take advantage of the Americans who have now lost their jobs because of several dismissal from the new Trump administration and who may choose to leave the country.

“The other thing we will say to the Americans is: if you want to kick your best researchers, if you want to kick people who, through their freedom and their sense of innovation and research, have made your country the world’s leading power, then we will welcome them,” said Glucksmann.
