It was through a concise decree that General Mohamed Toumba, Minister of the Interior and member of the CNSP junta, signed the cessation of Acted’s activities in Niger. The document boils down to the announcement of the withdrawal of the French NGO’s operating authorization, without giving the slightest reason. The same day and in a separate decree, the minister also withdrew his approval from the Nigerien NGO Action pour le bien-être (APBE), a local partner of ACTED on ongoing humanitarian projects.

Aid that has benefited a million people, according to Acted.
The NGO has already experienced a suspension of its activities three years ago in Diffafollowing accusations of “ dubious and subversive connections » with terrorists. A year earlier, however, she was targeted by the Islamic State which executed six of its members near Niamey.
