French Minister for Industry Marc Ferracci says that Europe should respond to new US import duties on a decisive joint front.
Ferracci commented on a trade policy on French TF1 TV channel after US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that a 25 % customs duty will be set for the imported steel and aluminum.
France is not a significant producer of aluminum or steel. However, according to Ferracci, France may notice the effect of customs duties, as Chinese exports may now be increasingly targeting Europe.
“We must respond in a common way because we know that Donald Trump’s strategy is to share Europeans,” Ferraci said.
