A total of 27 of SJ’s regional train X40 will be renovated. The first train ready and ready to roll out on the tracks in early February. The train has got a new look both on the inside and the outside.
Windows that dissolve the coverage
One of the stuff that was done during the renovation has been to replace with radio -transparent windows which gives better mobile cover on the trains. The Wi-Fi system has also been replaced which will make the connection on the train faster. Accessibility has also been improved through a clearer labeling at doors and signs, an improved speaker system and lighting.
Old trains
The trains that are now being renovated were put into operation for the first time in 2005. Until 2027, two vehicles will be taken out of use to undergo a renovation like this for three months. The first renovated train will, among other things, run the Ljusdal-Gävle and Gävle-Stockholm route.
