Freight train stopped on the uphill slope in Eskilstuna – delays in the morning traffic

The Swedish Transport Administration states that the route has been stopped since 05:28 on Wednesday morning and the train that was supposed to depart from Eskilstuna towards Stockholm at 06:34 has been cancelled. Later departures are delayed.

According to the Swedish Transport Administration, there is no forecast for when train traffic can resume.

According to the press service at MTR, which runs the Mälartågen on the route, the reason for the stop is that a heavily loaded goods train from stopped on an uphill hill at the height of Kjula.

– An auxiliary locomotive has left Eskilstuna, but there is speculation as to whether another auxiliary locomotive may be needed, says Raqiq Hyder on MTR’s press call.
