A freight train derailed on Wednesday evening at Borlänge station, which Falu-Kuriren first reported on.
The derailment is expected to affect traffic for six days, until February 28, according to the Swedish Transport Administration’s forecast.
– The contact line and the plant itself were quite seriously damaged. So right now there is a stop from Borlänge towards Avesta Krylbo, says Dennis Josefsson, press communicator at the Swedish Transport Administration.
Why the train derailed is now being investigated by the authority. Traffic is diverted on other routes.
– The routes to Ludvika, Mora and Falun are open, but there will be some delays, says Dennis Josefsson.
