The EU has an ongoing project, DiscoverEU, which will encourage travel in Europe. The project gives young people the opportunity to discover diversity, culture, history and meet new friends from all parts of the continent.

It can hardly be better because you can get the experience completely free.

What is included?

If you are selected, you will receive a travel card with train or plane ticket depending on where you live.

You also get a card that gives you a discount on everything from museums, courses and sports activities to public transport, accommodation and food.

That’s how you do it to compete

You can either choose to travel alone or with a maximum of four friends, provided they meet the conditions below.

This is required to be able to compete for free travel cards:

  • Be born between 1 January 2006 and 31 December 2006
  • Fill in the number of your ID card, passport or residence permit card in the online application form
  • Be a citizen or resident* of,
  • an EU country, including the overseas countries and territories, or,
  • a country associated with the Erasmus programme, i.e. Iceland, Liechtenstein, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia or Turkey.
  • In addition, you must take a quiz (if you are not applying as a team member).

    If you are selected, you will have the opportunity to travel between 1 and 30 days sometime between March 1, 2025 and May 31, 2026.
