On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Free announces a new edition of its Freebox Ultra. Characterized by a modern design and glowing colors, the new model is only available for a limited time
Rumors of a new Free device have been brewing for several days already. In fact, Free had teased its new product at the beginning of December, through a post on social networks. A twenty-second, two-sentence video: “We’re rolling out the red carpet for him. See you on December 3” were able to fuel hypotheses and stir up the excitement of Internet users.
Free announced nothing more and nothing less its Freebox Ultra collector, now revealed in all its splendor. The device was fully revealed today to celebrate Free’s 25th anniversary, in a mix of red and black tones.

An original design
The new high-tech gadget stands out above all for its design. Free has opted for a transparent box, ideal for seeing the components of the device. Customizable LEDs also accompany the product, allowing its users to change the intensity of the light. However, it is impossible to change the color.
Strongly inspired by the gaming world, Free offers 6 light modes: static, breathing, rain, wave, organic and chase, to vary the atmospheres and pleasures.
The box has an inscription “1999-2024, 25 years”a way of paying homage to the history of Free.
Performance that does not get a makeover
If the design has been transformed, the performance remains unchanged. The limited edition has the same technical sheet as the “classic” Freebox Ultra. The two models have a speed of 8 Gbit/s symmetrical as well as compatibility with Wifi 7. The two boxes finally offer the same services, such as Amazon Prime, Netflix with advertising, Disney+ with advertising…
The prices are also similar:
- Freebox Ultra Essential: €49.99/month or €39.99/month for 1 year (with OQEE and TV by channels Canal+)
- Freebox Ultra: €59.99/month or €49.99/month for 1 year (with OQEE and the channels TV by Canal, Canal+, Netflix, Prime Videos, Universal+, Disney+ and Cafeyn)
Free warns that quantities are limited. The Freebox Ultra collector will only be available while stocks last, the extent of which is still unknown. If the new Free model interests you, it is therefore advisable not to delay too long, otherwise you risk letting the offer pass you by.
