The nine municipal pools across Chatham-Kent open Tuesday and there will be plenty of free swimming, but the fun doesn’t stop there.

Thanks to sponsors, CK Recreation said free rec swims will be offered all summer at the seven outdoor pools and two indoor facilities operated by the municipality, a release said.

CKRecreation also reports SummerFest is back throughout the months of July and August.
“We are excited to offer a variety of free community programs to the residents of Chatham-Kent again this summer,” said Amy Wadsworth, manager recreation services and community engagement.
“We hope that families take advantage of these opportunities to get outside, have fun, and connect with their community,” she added.
As part of the SummerFest series, CKRecreation will be hosting beach days in Erieau and Mitchell’s Bay every Saturday and Sunday throughout July and August from 11 am to 3 pm

The CKRecreation Summer Squad will be on hand to help run activities with lots of beach toys and activities for kids, the release said.
SummerFest also introduces its weekly Party in the Park throughout July and August.
“Start the night with a fun community party followed by a free rec swim,” CKRecreation said.
Party in the Park will visit Chatham, Blenheim, Tilbury, Wallaceburg, Ridgetown, Dresden and Thamesville.
SummerFest also includes Play Rangers program at Kingston Park in Chatham, which will run from 11 am to 3 pm every Saturday throughout July and August.
“The Play Rangers bring unique and engaging equipment and toys ensuring fun for all ages,” said CKRecreation.
