In the proposal, this should come into effect next year and cost approximately SEK 3.6 million per year. The Service Committee will therefore receive an extended financial framework to cope with the task.
“High costs for a family with children”
– The school must be free of charge and to ensure that the school is free of charge, we will start serving fruit every day, to all students at the municipal primary schools throughout Växjö municipality. Guardians should not be asked to send the children fruit, says Malin Lauber (S), chairman of the municipal board.
– Inflation is still high and food prices are still increasing. Then a piece of fruit every day can quickly lead to high costs for a family with children, especially if there are several elementary school children in the same family. By now offering fruit every day, we are making Växjö municipality a little more equal, says Maria Garmer (V), the municipal board’s 1st vice-chairman.
The Center Party has participated in the budget work and is also behind the proposal.
