Free fall slide interactive pools We tested the new Futuroscope

The Aquascope was officially inaugurated on September 28. And the least we can say is that the sensations are there!

If you like water parks and even amusement parks, you must have certainly heard about the Aquascope project, the latest addition to the Futuroscope park, near Poitiers. For several months, the teaser kept many people in suspense. It must be said that this new water park is unprecedented in France in terms of innovations. It’s simple, we haven’t seen this anywhere else. One of the promises of the place: to create a unique experience. And on this point, the mission has been accomplished with flying colors.

The Aquascope is a 7,000 m² covered and themed space. When you open the door, you are already surprised by a decor that is quite modern, compared to other water parks. Regarding the experience, the immersion begins directly in the showers, since you are immersed in a subdued and colorful cave. Then, it’s time to discover the three areas of the park. The first: “the Abyss of Light”, is a totally immersive and fantastic space that will appeal to young and old alike. There is notably an aquatic cinema, the first in Europe, a magical river, and in certain places, the water even reacts to the footsteps of visitors.

The second space is “the Hub”, it is dedicated to thrills with slides equipped with on-board technologies. In total there are eight. Our favorites are “Quick” which takes us on an express descent to the beach outdoors, “Alien” which takes us on an eventful sliding race, “Spiral” which, as its name suggests, takes us turn your head at high speed until it’s time to dive and “Matrix” which is tested by 4 people on a large rafting buoy (advice: do it as early as possible to avoid waiting too long). The star attraction of this area is the “Rocket” slide in which you slide in free fall. Right next to the slide exit, you can relax in the “La Vague” area: a wave pool where you will have to hold on. Just above it, you can take a short stroll through the suspended nets.

The third zone is dedicated to children aged 3 and over, “The Kraki Fault”. In this space, everything has been designed to entertain and make young people dream thanks to the decor, lights and games. They can explore, play with water jets, ride a slide and navigate a water maze, all under the supervision of parents and lifeguards. Above all, they will be able to meet Kraki, an exopod who comes from another planet and who has fantastic powers.

After all these discoveries, if you want to get some fresh air and rest, you have the 3,500 m² outdoor area with a beach, bar and dynamic river. Concretely, after testing the Aquascope, we come away relaxed, amazed and exhausted too, it must be admitted. Since the opening of the place on July 15, 125,000 visits have already been recorded. A very good start which promises a bright future for the water park!

In terms of prices, tickets cost 39 euros for adults (13 years and over) and 32 euros for children (5-12 years). The Aquascope is located opposite the Futuroscope Arena,
