It’s time to bring out the electric guzzlers.
Tonight there will be minus prices for electricity again throughout the country.
But hurry, it turns fast, at least in the south.
The average price of electricity drops in Norrland to 4 öre per kilowatt hour (kWh) during the day on Wednesday. In electricity area 3, Svealand and northern Götaland, the price drops to nine öre, while the Scanians have to pay 31 öre per kWh, down from 62 öre on Tuesday, according to pricing on the electricity exchange Nord Pool.
Super sale everywhere
During the night to Wednesday, there will also be a super sale throughout the country, with negative exchange prices of around two öre. As usual, it is about strong winds and a lot of wind power, especially in southern Sweden and Denmark, when the price ends up on the minus side, especially clearly if it happens at night when consumption is low.
But then things turn around just as violently, at least in Southern Sweden, electricity area 4, where the price late Wednesday rises to over SEK 1:40/kWh when the wind blows. The hourly rate is most interesting for those with hourly rate agreements. Otherwise, for most people with variable electricity contracts, it is the monthly average that is essential.
On top of the stock market price, the electricity company’s mark-up, electricity tax, VAT and electricity grid fee of just over a krone per kWh are added.
