Free and open source, WebRcade is a new video game console emulator that can be used online, via a web browser, and therefore on a multitude of platforms. Perfect for nostalgic fans of retro gaming!
Retro gaming is increasingly popular with gamers, but it is not accessible to everyone. Indeed, the installation of emulators is not within everyone’s reach – not to mention the game Roms that must be recovered from elsewhere, in a not very legal way… Let’s remember in passing that you have to own the game original to enjoy it on an emulator and respect the legislation in force. Otherwise, it is copyright infringement. WebRcade is a rather affordable video game emulator, since it can be accessed directly through a web browser, thanks to a cloud storage system on Dropbox and Internet Archive. In fact, it works on many devices, such as smartphones, tablets or Xbox Series X|S consoles, as well as on many operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, iOS – on which it is quite difficult to run emulators – and Android. Gamepads are supported – via Bluetooth and USB connection – for front-end navigation and while playing games.
