After Olympic medalist Peder Fredricson was injured during a competition, Fredrik Spetz will go with the Swedish show jumping team to the Nations Cup in Germany.
The competition is one of the biggest in the world and replacing an Olympic medalist is a little nerve wracking.
– It’s a big track that is known for having very big obstacles, it’s clear that you thought about whether you’re ready, says Fredrik Spetz about how his thoughts went when he found out that he was going to ride.
Hope to keep in shape
The entire team consists of five riders, four of which will compete in the team event.
The team competition starts on Thursday, but the first individual competition is already on Tuesday. In addition to the 13-year-old Flanagan, Fredrik Spetz will bring two more horses with him.
– It’s important that a lot of things are right, both I and the horse have to be in shape, says Fredrik Spetz.
