France lively debates in the National Assembly about the law

It is a subject of intense debate in French towns and villages: will they lose the right to build new housing or municipal facilities? Because the government wants to reduce urban sprawl as much as possible to preserve agricultural areas and biodiversity. This is called “Zero net artificialisation” (ZAN), fixed by the climate law of 2021. The right, in particular, battles fiercely against, and brings to the Assembly a text aimed at limiting this constraint.
