(Finance) – Inflation slowdown in France confirmed in March.
According to theFrench National Statistical Institute (INSEE)inflation increased by 5.7% on a year-on-year basis, more than expected in the preliminary estimate (+5.6%) but less than the +6.3% of the previous month.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices recorded an increase of 0.7%, against the +0.8% of the first reading and the +1.1% of the previous month.
The harmonized figure, a measure used by the ECBrecorded a positive change of 6.7% on an annual basis, compared to +7.3% in February, while on a monthly basis harmonized inflation shows an increase of 1%, after the +1.1% of the month previous.
