(Finance) – Confidence among French manufacturing firms fell in August. The relative index, calculated byFrench National Statistical Office (INSEE)stands at 96 points after 101 the previous month (data revised from 100).
Analysts’ estimates were for a more contained drop, i.e. to 99 points.
Among other sectors, sentiment in the services drops to 100 points, while the climate in the Retail moves to 105 points from 106.
The overall sentiment of businesses slips to 99 points, as well as i assessments of the employment situation drop to 99 points.
