France Bans Apple iPhone 12 Due to Radiation Level

Apple new at the Wonderlust event yesterday iPhone 15 introduced the series. The highly anticipated phones quickly became talked about all over the world with their features and prices. However, in France, the focus was on the iPhone 12, not the iPhone 15. The sale of the model in the European country was banned due to above-threshold radiation levels.

ANFR, the French government’s radiation watchdog, notified Apple that it plans to ban the sale of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro in France. ANFR said the phones emit excessive levels of radio waves, which could pose a health risk to users. Apple disputed the ANFR’s findings, saying the phones met all applicable security standards. It was stated that the company would appeal the decision.

ANFR’s decision is that iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro can be used at close range found to emit up to 1.5 watts of radio waves per kilogram. It is based on research. This is above the limit of 1 watt per kilogram set by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection.

ICNIRP’s limits are based on the amount of radio waves considered safe for human exposure. However, some experts argued that the limits were too high and even low levels of radio waves could be harmful.

Apple disputed the ANFR’s findings, saying the phones met all applicable security standards. It was stated that the company would appeal the decision. However, it is not yet known whether the ANFR’s decision will be implemented or whether Apple will be able to overturn the decision.
