France at the trial of Nicolas Sarkozy justice looks into

At the trial on suspicion of Libyan financing of Nicolas Sarkozy’s 2007 presidential campaign, interrogations continue on the hypothesis of a “corruption pact” established at the end of 2005 between the former French president and Muammar Gaddafi. On Wednesday January 15, the court looked into the trips to Libya, in the fall of 2005, of Nicolas Sarkozy, then Minister of the Interior, and of Claude Guéant and Brice Hortefeux, at the time respectively his chief of staff and its Minister Delegate for Local Authorities. Two witnesses in diplomatic functions in Tripoli at the time, a former ambassador and a former commissioner, were also heard.
