A new meeting on Ukraine will be held today.
Now several European countries are merging to develop a peace plan.
It will later be presented to the United States.
Britain and France have now agreed to develop a peace plan for the war together with Ukraine. It will then be presented to the United States.
This is announced by the British Prime Minister, according to The Guardian.
Conversation with the United States
In recent weeks, the United States has had meetings with both Ukraine and Russia about how the war is to be terminated.
However, the talks between the US and Ukraine have been slow. As late as Friday, it ended with Volodomyr Zelenskyj being kicked out of the White House.
At the same time, the outside world has followed US actions and the new foreign policy direction that took shape after Donald Trump was appointed as president.
Several leaders have criticized his approach to Russia, and believes that Putin plays in his hands.
Following the events of recent weeks, several European leaders will meet in London this afternoon, to discuss how the situation will be handled – and the war will end, in consultation with Ukraine.
Starmer: US support is needed
Britain’s Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced earlier on Sunday that Europe needs US security guarantees when it comes to Ukraine, Reuters reports.
In recent years, the United States has contributed both financial support and important weapons systems to Ukraine.
This is something that will be needed in the future as well, even if Europe is increasing its support, according to Starmer.
