France 2 changes the date of the Music Festival which

This year, the traditional Fête de la Musique evening on France 2 will not be broadcast on June 21.

France 2 disrupts traditions. Every year, the public channel broadcasts a major concert on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique, which takes place, like every year, on June 21. This year, it falls on Friday. Last year, the high mass of La Deux brought together 20,000 spectators in Reims, where the festivities took place, and more than three million viewers behind their screens.

For more than 3h30, the evening presented by Laury Thilleman and Garou saw artists like Patrick Bruel, Vianney, Zazie, Matt Pokora, Aya Nakamura, Patrick Fiori et Corsu, Hoshi, Amir, Naps, Santa, Marina Kaye, Pierre de Maere, Chico et Les Gypsies, Ycare, Youri Buneaventura, Gims, Juliette Armanet, and Claudio Capéo.

But this year, surprise: France 2 will not broadcast the Music Festival in prime time, like other years. In question ? Football ! The Euro, which takes place in Germany, lasts until July 14. And this Friday, June 21, the France team faces the Netherlands at 9 p.m. However, the match is not broadcast on the France Télévisions channels since the TV rights for the Euro were shared between TF1, M6 and the pay channel BeIn Sports. Friday evening, the Blues match will also be broadcast on M6.

Why not show the big concert of the Fête de la Musique 2024? France 2 has in fact decided not to broadcast the Fête de la Musique concert simultaneously with the Blues match, preferring to postpone the broadcast to the next day, Saturday June 22. No doubt for audience reasons…

The evening, which will be presented again by the duo Laury Thilleman – Garou, will, like last year, take place in Reims and will be recorded on Friday. Expected on stage, among others, Slimane, Lara Fabian, Patrick Bruel, MC Solaar, Matt Pokora, Amir, Patrick Fiori, Vitaa, Santa, Mentissa, Hugues Auffray, Axelle Red, Roch Voisine, Tayc, Christophe Willem, Cœur de Pirate , Collectif Métissé, Dadju, Dany Brillant, David Hallyday, Eloiz, Emmanuel Moire, Gaëtan Roussel, Hoshi, or Jeremy Fréro. So don’t be surprised when you turn on your television on Friday. If you may hear a few musical notes from a neighboring concert outside your window, on France 2, you will be entitled to the broadcast of an episode of the detective series “Tropiques critiques” with Sonia Rolland. Not really the same atmosphere…
