Swedish police have infiltrated gang leader Rawa Majid’s criminal network Foxtrot for nine months, reports Echo.
In the summer of 2023, the police received information that the network had a chat group with about 900 users on the encrypted messaging app Signal, whereupon the police began an infiltration of the group. In April this year, the police infiltrator pounced on an offer to buy three kilos of amphetamine, which led to the arrest of several people.
Five people are now on trial, including for particularly serious drug offences. All deny wrongdoing.
– I will claim that this is Rawa Majid’s network Foxtrot that has conducted this drug trade, and that it is people in Turkey who are in charge, says prosecutor Daniel Jonsson to TV4 Nyheterna.
The highest tier in Sweden
Through the infiltration, they have succeeded in identifying two ways in which the network brings drugs into Sweden.
– It is brought in through foreign-registered trucks that are unloaded at various places in Sweden. The drug has also been sent through postal packages to young unpunished people who hand it over to a driver in the network who in turn transports it on, says Daniel Jonsson.
Several other Foxtrot members have been prosecuted on previous occasions, but this time it seems to concern the core of the network’s Swedish operations.
– There is a person who I mean is an organizer here in Sweden and who is higher up in the hierarchy. In addition to that, there are two drug transporters, a warehouse keeper, and a person who organizes the postal package business.
Controlled from abroad
It is unclear how much damage the network suffered from the infiltration.
– I can’t comment on that, I don’t have the bigger picture, says Daniel Jonsson.
Despite the fact that the arrested persons belong to the leadership layer in Sweden, the highest persons, including Rawa Majid, are still believed to control the operations from Turkey.
– It is quite clear that a large organization has conducted this, and that there are people abroad who are in charge, says Daniel Jonsson.
