The prosecutor wants the 16-year-old who shot dead a man at the Emporia shopping center in Malmö to be sentenced to four years of closed youth care. A woman was also seriously injured in the shooting.

Prosecutor Michelle Stein states that an adult person had in all probability been sentenced to life imprisonment for the crime, the Prosecutor’s Office writes in a press release.

The trial, which has been ongoing since August 8 in a security room, has been held behind closed doors.

The prosecutor believes that the 16-year-old should be sentenced for, among other things, murder, attempted murder and causing danger to others.
