Four people are requested to be detained after the police operation in Tyresö on Thursday, writes the Public Prosecutor’s Office in a press release.
On Thursday, four people were arrested and detained in Tyresö on suspicion of preparation for terrorist crimes and serious weapons crimes. During the operation, a police officer was captured in a photo carrying a firearm from a residence that is connected to a suspected perpetrator.
Of the four people who are arrested, two people are now requested to be detained on probable grounds suspected of preparation for a terrorist crime, alternatively of participation in a terrorist organization, serious crime, and serious weapons crime.
The two other arrested persons are requested to be detained on probable cause, suspected only of serious weapons offences.
The premises that the police and Säpo raided is located on the ground floor of an apartment building and is used as a mosque by an Islamic cultural association. Säpo has linked the suspects to the Islamic State in Somalia and serious organized crime.
When the detention hearing will take place has not yet been decided.
