Southwestern Public Health is Advising Those Who May Have Been Exposed and Were Born After 1970 or are not up to date with their vaccinations that they could be at risk of contracting the highly infectious virus.

The Health Unit For Oxford and Elgin Couties Said The Potential Exhibitions Occurred at:

  • Aylmer’s East Elgin Community Complex on Feb. 15 BETWEEN 9 AM and 1 PM
  • Alexandra Hospital Ingersoll Emergency Department on Feb. 21 Between 8:53 pm and 11:05 pm
  • Woodstock General Hospital Emergency Department on Feb. 23 Between 8:20 pm and 10:30 pm
  • Tillsonburg Medical Center on Feb. 25 Between 1:30 pm and 4:12 pm

The Advisory Comes A Day After the Canadian Press Reported Cases Across the Province Had Nearly Doubled with 78 New Infections in Just Two Weeks Bringing This Year’s Total To Just Over 140.

Measles Symptoms included in Red Rash, Fever, Cough, Runny Nose, Upper Respiratory Type Symptoms, Red Eyes and Fatigue. SERIOUS Complications Such As Pneumonia, Enceptitis and Blindness are possible. People Most at Risk of Measles Complications included pregnant Women, Young Children and the Immunocompromated.
